Position Description :
The Facilities Planning Department is responsible for the development and coordination of the capital program throughout the Company.
The successful candidate will be part of the Automation & Power Facilities Planning Division, which is a component of the Facilities Planning Department.
The Automation & Power Facilities Planning Division (A&PFPD) comprises the Information Technology Group, Process Automation Group, Power Group, Utilities Group, and Master Plans and Major Studies Group.
A&PFPD’s responsibilities include coordination and planning of communications and IT systems and new facilities, process control systems, as well as electrical facilities and planning and coordinating non-
and developing feasible alternatives for individual capital projects.
Minimum Requirements :
As a potential candidate for this position, the selection criteria are :
Education : B.S. in chemical engineering.
Experience : Ten (10) years, preferably in the oil industry or similar process industry, such that the incumbent is clearly recognized as an expert in his field.
Language Requirements : Fluent in English.
Other : Must have a thorough knowledge of engineering practices and economic principles, calculation methods, design details, and U.
S. and Aramco codes, standards, and specifications.
Duties & Responsibilities :
As a Facilities Planning Engineer, your primary role is to :
Conduct feasibility studies on major expansion / upgrades for utility systems and long-term business strategies related to these systems, including development of master plans.
Prepare scoping papers to define capital projects covering utilities operations of hydrocarbon plants.
Interface with operating engineering and project management organizations.
Perform technical and economic analysis of existing and proposed utility systems.
Support operating organizations to evaluate existing utility systems and develop business cases and scope for capital projects.
Prepare and make presentations to corporate management on utility issues.
Mentor and develop young Facilities Planning Engineers.
Note : Utility systems include the generation, treatment, distribution, collection, disposal and / or reuse of water (utility, potable, process, boiler feed, fire, etc.
steam system, steam condensate, air (plant, instrumentation, and process) sewage (industrial and sanitary), and soil treatment.
