The Backup Admin & Backup Systems is responsible for database management configuration, security, resource monitoring and reporting, troubleshooting, and the development of specialised programs, also responsible for managing the database and data dictionaries of the enterprise and troubleshooting.
Reporting to : Development Project Manager
Define database structures and standards for use to ensure consistency and optimisation of database.
Designs, maintains, reviews and controls the enterprise’s databases to optimize of database storage and access.
Directs the programmers and analysts in making changes to the database management system to optimize of database storage and access.
Analyses information requirements of new / modified systems, to ensure appropriate space and access arrangements be implemented.
Co-ordinates physical changes to database to ensure problem-free operation.
Tests, corrects errors and refines changes to the database to reduce errors and increased consistency
Modifies database programmes to enhance processing performance.
Creates / run the Database Backups and Restore schedules jobs to prevent data loss.
Creates and assigns descriptors to elements needed for data organization, access, and control to effective and easily understood coding system.
Apply permissions and security on database entities to ensure database integrity and security.
Defines roles and specifies user’s access level for each segment to ensure absence of security violations.
Develops specifications for database construction and maintenance to ensure consistency and optimisation of database.
Enforces standards for use of the database management and operation to ensure high and consistent standards in database management and operation.
Providing the standard reports (Disk Usage, Backup and Restore Events, Top Transactions History, Database Consistency History, User Statistics, etc.
on regular bases in order to monitor database performance.
Providing weekly and monthly reports on system problems and their solutions, as well as assisting in forecasts of future utilization and equipment requirements to reduce updating errors and increased consistency.
Conducting regular knowledge transfer sessions for the team in order of knowledge sharing.
Fulfils departmental requirements in terms of providing work coverage and administrative notification during periods of personnel illness, vacation, or education to keep a backup during absence.
Database advanced skills especially in MS SQL, Oracle
Effective experience in DBMS (Ex. SSIS SQL Server Integration Services).
Skilled in file structure, design, information retrieval techniques, file access methods, control, and development of standards.
Advance English Level.
Ability to work independently or in a team environment.
Analytical thinking, problem solving and introduction of project management.
Bachelor’s degree in computer Science or Management of Information Technology
At least 5 years of database design and programming experience
Minimum 3 years using the database(s) the enterprise uses
Knowledge of relational database technology, transaction processing procedures, and advance modelling and design tools.
Experience in systems analysis and designs.

Salary is up to 13,100 SAR per month total package
