Conducts quality control inspection of the precast units before and during casting operation taking into account :
Checking correct concrete mix with Batch Plant report and their attributes : slump, temperature, vibration, cubes / cylinder samples were taken.
Advises for additional samples to be made to determine stripping or release strengths;
Mould dimensions and assembly at frequency specified in Quality Control Procedure (KPC-IMS-P-QC-001), including concrete cover;
Inspection of steel cage assembly;
Types, sizes and location of cast-in provisions, cutouts, openings and recesses; stability when subjected to vibration or impacts;
Prepare records of strand stressing e.g. material record, force and elongation;
Marking & coding of moulds.
Ambient temperature and advice for necessary precautions during hot weather concreting;
Adequacy of compaction and methods of casting;
Oversees stripping / releasing operations to ensure adequate concrete strength is achieved;
Advises on stacking and transportation methods to ensure no damage on precast unit and safety of workers.
Post-Pour QC Inspector
Conducts quality control inspection of the precast units after casting operation and before delivery :
Checking surface finish treatment, color uniformity and other aesthetic parameters;
Dimensional properties of cast units including cutouts and opening provisions;
Curing, stacking and transportation methods;
Marking and coding of the elements;
Verification of precast units prior to delivery.
Generic Duties of QC Inspector
Prepares pre-pour and post-pour inspection records as per frequency stated in ITP and Quality Control Procedures. Verifies the actual condition vs.
acceptance criteria and designates the quality status of precast unit (rework, reject, pass).
Raises product Non-Conformance Reports for non-conformities detected during manufacturing and handling of precast units.
Reports to the QC Engineer for raised NCR for verification and disposition. He also reports to QC Engineer any dubious conditions that may lead to non-conforming products.
Assist the QC Engineer in preparation and maintenance of QC reports, documents and records. He also assist the QC Engineer in preparation of material test reports / certificates / data sheet for submittal and approval of Client.
Conducts receiving material inspection for concrete raw material and production material as per Store Procedure (KPC-IMS-
P-STO-001); raises NCR for detected non-conformities and escalates the matter to the QC Engineer.
Receives customer complaints for necessary corrective and preventive actions.
Maintains and takes care of QC equipment used for inspection, such as gauges, load cell, pachometer, etc..
Implements and follows safe practice to avert potential accidents during inspection.
Understanding of applicable standards and good production practices; able to grasp concepts quickly and apply it in practice;
Good interpersonal and communication skills in written and oral media;
