Role Context :
KBR has been awarded a support contract by the UK Ministry of Defence (UK MOD). Under the terms of the contract, which will run until 2022 (with options out until 2025), KBR will provide communications network support and deliver training services in the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia.
This is a significant long-term project and expands our portfolio of work with the UK MOD in the Middle East.
Under the contract, KBR is seeking to recruit staff to deliver :
Support in delivering IP Telephony at multiple sites, host applications such as Network Management System, Cable Management System and incident management software.
Operation of Service Desks in a number of regions. Support to maintain operational capability of Fixed & Deployable equipment / capabilities.
Design & deliver a new Management Information System Technical & English Language Training in a number of regional locations.
Build Estate maintenance and upkeep.
Role Description :
The Quality representative will report to the Quality Manager and will provide the local onsite presence, authority and stewardship of this function.
He will be responsible for promotion, liaison, dissemination and interfaces for all activities associated with quality management to the KBR team and supply chain partners.
He will also act as the local point of contact for SANG and customer liaison on quality. He will undertake audits as requested and check that local and corporate Quality policies and practices are being followed.
Advise supply chain on good practice and flows down Authority, KSA and KBR Quality culture.
The Quality reps will provide a pivotal role that brings the Quality management aspects in the regions and through the delivery teams in the field.
They are responsible for ensuring that all activities are compliant with the client, customer and KBRs expectations and requirements.
These roles have the devolved responsibility for ensuring all tasks, actions and instructions are completed in compliance with the cultural, functional, contractual and legal requirements.
The role will interface with entities in the region including supply chain partners, customers, client and MoD, through :
MoD Liaison officers and client regional managersRegional office managersSupply Chain regional representativesQuality ManagerKBR GS EMEA Functional Manager for QHSE.
The Quality reps will be responsible for advising, monitoring and controlling compliance with the relevant standards and the instructions and interpretations from their line managers.
Identifying Quality risks, issues and opportunities for improvement and promoting them into KBR senior managers.Educating people as to how Quality risk is managed and assisting with risk mitigation planning and establishing interdependencies.
Undertaking Quality audits as instructed.Develop and disseminate Quality policy in line with Authority, KBR and industry good practice.
Implement the quality management system, work methods and guidelines for quality delivery across the project.Monitor and champion good practice and sharing lessons learnt and improvements across the regions.
Manage KBR quality verification programme. Ensure all activities are complying with the Contract and KBR QMS requirements.
Highlight to KBR Region Manager any quality concern that may lead to a defect and ensuring a preventive action is taken.Issue a Non-conformity Report (NCR) to subcontractors or KBR staff for quality management issues that require corrective actions.
Conduct internal audits of the KBR project QMS and subcontractors’ audits of the subcontractors’ QMS.Follow up and close audit findings and verify the close out of subcontractor non-conformities and corrective actions.
Maintain the project NCR’s RegisterReport quality management issues raised by Client or related to KBR and / or subcontractors.
Interact with Client monitoring team, KBR Quality Verification Representatives, and subcontractors’ inspection team for quality management issues.
Liaising with project Quality Manager as required.Acting as a focal point of contact for quality management issues at sites / regions as required.
Cascade quality induction and quality awareness briefings.Monitor and record regional quality performance.Provide reporting and status of Quality compliance into the MIS.
Cascade the QMS and monitor adherence and any divergences.Engage with supply chain partners to adopt and implement the QMS.
Undertake audits for compliance with the QMS.Support project Quality Manager.
Experience and Skills :
Be a competent professional in Quality and have a sound and board awareness of the other discipline area.Experience of working in integrated teams and in a collaborative environment.
Experience of working with other entities, customers and a supply chain.Examples of managing others on the Quality aspects of project delivery.
Examples of working with and promoting the use of a Quality Management System.Demonstrable stakeholder interface experience and capability with strong influencing skills including ability to build effective relationships and influence others.
Experience of applying method statements and working practices for Operation & Maintenance activities in the field.Dissemination and monitoring of processes and plans through a supply chain.
Experience of working in a secure environment.Knowledge of the Facilities Management, IT or Delivery Partner industries.
Experience of delivering training on Quality applications.
