Title : Regional Classroom Interpreter

SITE : East & West

Reports To : Training Centre Chief Instructor (STC CI)

Immediate Subordinates :

No line management responsibilities


Primary Objectives and Functions :

To provide classroom interpretation to enable the local military students’ understanding of technical instruction, in accordance with the quality management system to ensure that KBR meets both internal and external requirements in accordance with the Defence Systems Approach to Training (DSAT) and BS EN ISO 9001 : 2015 Quality Management Systems.

Summary of Duties and Responsibilities :

Regional Training Delivery

  • To provide assistance to the technical instructors in the classrooms in order to enable the local military students’ understanding of technical content
  • To provide advice to the Course Designers as required on an ad hoc basis
  • To assist with the InVal of regional training as required
  • To assist with the marking of assessments as required
  • Reporting

  • Produce statistical information as directed by the STC CI
  • Act as regional liaison and interpreter, providing written feedback as directed by STC CI
  • Office Administration

  • Provide technical translation services as directed by the STC CI
  • Advise the STC CI on matters concerning translation which contribute to achieving transformation objectives and assist long-term planning and change management
  • Manage and maintain an efficient prioritised electronic filing system
  • General office administration duties as required
  • Maintain all documentation iaw Training Quality Data Protection guidelines
  • Other duties as required by the STC CI

  • To sustain and maintain good customer relationships through regular contact with regional Military Customer’s and UK MoD staff
  • To provide general support to KBR central training school as directed by the STC CI (in extremis)

  • Equivalent vocational qualification (Level NVQ 3) in translation related field
  • Be able to read, write, speak and listen in the Arabic Language
  • Preparing concise written work in English
  • Designing and preparing spreadsheet solutions
  • Skilled in the use of MS Office software
  • Be fluent in Speaking, Reading, Writing and Listening in the English Language
  • Hold a valid driving license from country of origin
  • Have an analytical and logical approach, be solution oriented and innovative in approach to

  • Ability to cultivate, build and maintain working relationships within a multinational environment
  • Have the highest level of personal and professional integrity

  • Experience of working in the Middle East and experience of working within a military environment
  • Experience of working within the telecommunications field
