Leveraging on its strong positions, the BU is developing its presence in renewable energies, in the gas value chain and in energy efficiency services.

Specifically, ENGIE’s Client Solutions team is expanding its facilities management, energy efficiency and district cooling base to cover whole city infrastructure solutions.Purpose of the Job

  • Identify and develop the business through development of greenfield and brownfield infrastructure projectsReporting
  • The Business Developer will report to CEO KSA.Key Accountabilities
  • Lead the multidisciplinary project team (AIFA, Legal, Technical, etc.) and the involvement at project level of any other relevant corporate function of ENGIE.
  • Be accountable for and watch and assess best practices in business development and construction.
  • Be accountable for identified part of Client Solutions’ PPP objectives and KPI.
  • Be accountable for compliance with Client Solutions policies.
  • Contribute to the yearly budget development plan (both CAPEX and development budget)Key responsibilities
  • Pre-development phase : oIdentify opportunities greenfield and brownfield opportunities in line with BU strategy.oCarry out proactive prospection and screen / evaluate opportunities.
  • oProduce, present and get approval of Advanced Notice (AN) by the Management Committee.

  • Development phase : oPlan development and allocate internal & external resources.oMonitor the project schedule, budget and deliverables.
  • oSelect, negotiate and manage partnerships.oCoordinate the optimization of the economics and of the risk-reward profile of the project.

    oExecute operational development activities.oCoordinate the negotiations of the offtake agreements, consortium and shareholders agreement, EPC and O&M arrangements, financing and security documents, etc.

    oCoordinate the management of local stakeholders internally and externally.oProduce, present and get approval of Investment Note (IN) by the Decisional Committees.

  • Final development phase : oSign off before commitment.oFinal development activities to closing of the projectoProduce compliance memo.
  • oTransfer to Construction / Integration.oBe accountable for and prepare look-back.

  • Participate to Client Solutions meetings to perform portfolio reviews.
  • Provide added value by establishing and organizing contacts with appropriate decision makers and influencers.
  • Monitor and report on important political events that affect or might affect our current and / or future businesses.Business Understanding
  • Good understanding of Capex investments, city infrastructure, business.
  • government and parastatal regulatory and procurement frameworks
  • GCC long term economic modernization plans and current initiatives
  • Groups Strategy vision
  • Group’s governance and ethical rules.
  • University degree in Economics, Finance or Engineering.
  • 5-10 years’ work experience in energy, buildings and / or urban infrastructure services and other related areas in an international environment
  • At least 6-10 years of business development experience, preferably in Middle East PPP framework
  • International profile and experience
  • Additional experience in commercial, finance or strategy fields
  • Fluent in English, with excellent communication skills. Additional language is a plus.Specific Knowledge / skills
  • Strongly driven, autonomous, with excellent interactive skills and the ability to thrive under pressure
