BAE Systems is the UK Government’s nominated Prime Contractor (PC) underthe Government-to-Government arrangements that are in place to provide equipment,support and training to Saudi Arabia.
Weprovide maintenance of Royal Saudi Air Force aircraft and train RSAF personnelsafely in a training environment in how to use their aircraft, equipment andweapons.
For suchmaintenance training, this role is a specialist appointment designed to maximise the effectivenessof the Link 16 Network.
The job holderis responsible to the Head of ManagedOperations, through the Operations Support Team Leader, for understandingthe status of communication between all Link 16 participants and to manipulatethe network in such a way as to fulfil the operational needs of participants inline with the RSAF C2 needs.
The job holder is accountable for thefollowing :
To monitor the network to ensure it is beingoperated in conjunction with the extant national restrictions.
Responsibility for short range planning of day today Link 16 operations.
Regular liaison with relevant RSAF and civilianagencies.
Ensure that the Typhoon aircraft obtain optimum useof the Link 16 network with correct programming of the MIDS.
Completing any other reasonable duties or requeststhat are made by the line management.
To understand the status of communication betweenall Link 16 participants and manipulate the network in such a way as to fulfilthe operational needs of participants, in line with the C2 needs.
Reassigning network bandwidth or assigning bandwidthto unplanned participants; maintaining situational awareness of allparticipants.
Recognising platformsthat, for some reason, cannot participate in the network, and developingsolutions to address the deficiencies.
RECRUITMENT SPECIFICATION Essential
Considerable practicalexperience of Link 16 network management
An understanding ofTyphoon MIDS.
The ability to act uponhis own initiative within the scope of his job.
A conscientious approachto work and meticulous attention to detail.
A track record of meetingstrict deadlines without compromising standards and quality.
Thorough understanding ofcompany processes and procedures and industry knowledge.
Proven experience withinthe aerospace industry preferably gained on Typhoon aircraft.

High level ofinterpersonal skill to co-ordinate a number of activities and the ability tocommunicate, influence and direct decision making.

The ability and capacityto adapt to rapidly changing customer demands.
Experience in thepreparing and presenting of high quality briefings to key stakeholders.
